Privacy policy

Sage Studios is a one-chair studio in Lincoln, CA run by Allison Baldwin, doing business as Sage Studios. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, who else handles it, and your choices. Questions: .

What we collect

• Contact details: your name, email, and phone number, when you apply as a new client, book, or create an account.
• Your new-client application: your answers about your hair history and what you're looking for.
• Appointments: the services, times, and any notes you send.
• Consent forms for permanent makeup and tattoos: your date of birth, emergency contact, health questionnaire answers, pre-care acknowledgments, and signature. California law requires this form before any tattoo or permanent makeup procedure.
• Payments: if you save a card or pay a deposit, your card is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Messages: the emails and texts we send you, and your replies to our studio number.
• Technical records: your IP address and browser type when you sign a consent form or agree to our cancellation policy, as a record of your signature and agreement.

How we use it

To review applications, schedule and confirm appointments, send reminders and aftercare, charge fees you agreed to under our cancellation policy, keep your client file, and keep you safe during procedures. We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Your health information

Answers on the consent form are used only to make sure a procedure is safe for you and to keep the records California requires. They are encrypted when stored, are seen only by your artist, and are never sent by email. We share them only if the law requires it (for example, a county health inspection of client records). Viewing your signed copy online requires your date of birth.

Who else handles your information

We use a few service providers who process information on our behalf and only to provide their service:

• Stripe processes card payments. On payment pages, Stripe may collect device information to prevent fraud, under its own privacy policy.
• Resend delivers our emails.
• Telnyx delivers our text messages.
• Cloudflare protects and delivers this website.
• Google Fonts supplies some of the fonts on this site, so your browser contacts Google when pages load.

We may also disclose information when required by law.

Text messages

We text only people who agree to it, and only about their appointments and aftercare, never marketing. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

How long we keep it

Client records, including signed consent forms, are kept as part of your client file for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal and insurance obligations. When records are no longer needed, they are deleted in a way that leaves them unreadable.

How we protect it

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Health answers are encrypted when stored, and only the owner can sign in to the studio's records.

Your choices

• See or correct your information: signed-in clients can update their contact details in your account. For anything else, including a copy of your records or a correction, email .
• Deletion: ask by email and we'll delete what we aren't required to keep.
• Texts: reply STOP at any time, or turn texts off in your account.

Do Not Track and tracking by others

This site doesn't use advertising or analytics trackers and doesn't follow you across other websites, so it behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. Other than the service providers listed above, no third parties collect information about your activity on this site over time or across other websites.

Children

This site isn't directed to children under 13. Tattoo and permanent makeup services are for adults 18 and older only.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we'll also email clients who have an email address on file.
